The Frame is a boutique A-frame retreat on the highest, forested part of Ravna Gora in Gorski kotar, Croatia. It was built around one line: framed by nature, defined by design.
That idea runs through everything, from the 13 m glass wall that opens onto the forest to the calm the villa keeps. This page is the story behind it.
The Story
The Frame began with a simple wish: a place in Gorski kotar where time slows down. Rather than another rental, the aim was a single, design-led villa where the forest is the view and the quiet is the point.
The A-frame shape and the 13 m floor-to-ceiling glass wall came from that wish. The name followed the architecture, since the whole villa frames the nature around it.
Katarina hosts The Frame and looks after each stay in person. Guests deal with a host who knows the villa and the area, not a faceless desk.

Design and nature together
Every choice keeps the forest close, from the glass wall to the design-led interior. The villa adds comfort without ever competing with the Gorski kotar setting outside.
Privacy first
The Frame stands alone on the highest part of Ravna Gora, with no neighbours crowding the view. That seclusion is the reason a stay here feels like your own space rather than a shared one.
The Villa in Short
The Frame sleeps up to 12 across six bedrooms, so families, multi-generational groups and small gatherings all fit. A 50 m² heated pool and 40 m² terrace open the villa to summer, while a fireplace keeps it warm through the colder months.
Premium finishes run throughout, with underfloor heating, Smart TVs in each bedroom and fast WiFi. A sauna and jacuzzi wellness area is coming soon to join the heated pool.
